This program ran August 18-22, 2008, based at the Community Hall with an awesome turn-out of up to 18 kids and several parents and grandparents! The whole community stepped up to the plate to make this a memorable experience for the children of Texada. Thanks to all who helped in too many ways to mention. This only works when we all pitch in! It takes a whole community to raise a child! (if any kids are interested in an ongoing club around environmental issues/activities, or any adult interested in facilitating such a group, please call Karen at 604 486 7284 to talk about it. This organization is international, and has a great website you can Google: www.kidsforsavingearth.org )There was music, hiking, learning, sharing, crafts, snacks, and more! This event was co-sponsored by the Texada United Church in partnership with the Earth Day Coordinating Committee – and it was FREE!
A more detailed description of activities is provided in the sermon of August 24 which can be read by clicking here.
